Children's Book Publishers: Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity

The children's book publishing industry is increasingly recognizing the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the books they produce and promote. This includes representation of different cultures, races, ethnicities, abilities, and LGBTQ+ identities in both the characters and the authors and illustrators creating the books.

One of the major players in the industry, Penguin Random House Children's division, has made a commitment to increase the diversity of their authors and illustrators, and to publish books that reflect the diversity of their readers. They have created an internal task force to help achieve these goals, and have also launched a scholarship program for writers and illustrators from underrepresented communities.
